Tomorrow me and my team is conducting a workshop on GNU/Linux and Open Source software @ B.D.Memorial Institute, Kolkata. Target audience is students of class IX. This is first of our ventures and we hope many will follow suit. We are looking forward to help the little kids set their foot into Linux domain properly so that they don’t get a biased view of the situation that we have seen happening with our friends, just for the sake of word of mouth rumor! Considering  our audience and allotted time, the topic is a minimal introduction to Linux history, current relevance & basic introduction to the most easily available UBUNTU (10.4 LTS) and simple Unix/linux commands. People who are with me are my classmates from NSEC :  Chiradeep Biswas, Abhishek Bhattacharya, Sudip Kumar Basu & Subha Guhathakurta. I guess we are doing a Techni-social service to the student community in this way! As you guessed we ethical people did keep the workshop void of any entry fees!

With the blessings of the GNU bull & penguin Tux… we hope this venture would be successful!
